Russian Navy Ships Make Call At Port Klang

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- The Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet is making a call at Port Klang until Monday.

It comprises an anti-submarine ship, a tanker and a tugboat, the Russian Embassy said in a statement.

The fleet, carrying the Pacific Fleet's marine units and two helicopters, is on their way back to port Vladivostok after performing anti-pirate mission near the coast of Somalia.

During patrolling of the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Fleet mariners had escorted about 70 vessels from all over the world and participated in the Russian-Chinese anti-piracy joint exercise.

The embassy said the visit of the Russian ships would deepen bilateral ties between the peoples of the two countries.
