Air Quality In Most Areas Good

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The air quality in most areas throughout the country were reported to be good Monday.

According to the Department of Environment's website, out of the 50 areas monitored, only two recorded moderate air pollutant index (API) readings of 65 (Petaling Jaya, Selangor) and 53 (Tanah Merah, Kelantan).

Among the areas with good air quality were Limbang, Sarawak (18), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (23), Putrajaya (27) and Alor Setar, Kedah (27).

API readings are classified as follows: 0-50 (good), 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
