1,500 Services Can Be Reached Through Mysms
BANGI, June 24 (Bernama) -- About 1,500 services can be reached through the government short messaging service (SMS), mySMS and this has far exceeded its target of 500 services, said Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Manpower Planning Unit (Mampu) director-general Datuk Normah Md Yusof.
She said the number of agencies capitalising on the service kept increasing and so far 84 agencies had benefited from the service with 1.2 million text messages received.
The Valuation and Property Services Department, Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry were the latest inclusions, she said when opening the mySMS 2009 Conference here on Wednesday.
Her text of speech was read by Mampu ICT deputy director-general Dr Nor Aliah Mohd Zahri.
At the function, the Education Ministry won the highest hit award while the Malaysian Cocoa Board was adjudged the fastest SMS.
Launched in July last year, the SMS-based services enable the public to get information, data and other services from participating government agencies by sending a SMS to a dedicated number 15888.
