Etihad Adds New Flights From Australia To Frankfurt
By Neville D'Cruz
MELBOURNE, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has added more flights from Australia to Frankfurt.
Services from Sydney to Frankfurt will nearly double to 13 flights a week from December 12 and increase to twice daily flights from March 2010.
Etihad passengers flying to Frankfurt from both Sydney and Brisbane will now be able to experience even smoother transfers at the world-class Abu Dhabi International Airport with transit times of less than four hours in both directions.
Those travelling from Frankfurt to Melbourne will also enjoy a shorter transit time in the UAE capital.
Etihad Airways' Chief Executive James Hogan said Frankfurt was among Etihad's most successful destination because it retained strong volumes of business and leisure passengers throughout the year.
" Abu Dhabi's geographical location makes it ideal as a gateway for air travellers from Germany to connect to Australia, the Far East and throughout the Middle East easily and quickly," Hogan said in a statement today.
Etihad operates a three cabin A330-200 aircraft between Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt, configured to carry 10 passengers in first class, 26 passengers in business class and 164 passengers in economy class.
