Malaysia Calls For Immediate Halt To Hostile Actions Against Saudi Arabia

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia wants an immediate halt to all hostile actions against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and condemns any intervention which supports the Houthis rebels, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said: "We denounce firmly the perpetration of violence by Houthis rebels along the borders of Saudi Arabia.

"This brutal act, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, is unjustified," he said a four-paragraph statement released here today.

Najib said Kuala Lumpur recognised the legitimate right of Riyadh to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and to protect the regional security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

"The people of Malaysia express our solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people in defending its independence, sovereignty, homeland security and way of life," he added.
