Several MOUs To Be Signed Between Malaysia And China


PUTRAJAYA, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Several memorandums Of understanding (MOU) are expected to be signed between Malaysia and China during the two-day visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao beginning tomorrow.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah told a news conference here today that Hu had also made a personal request to visit Melaka on Wednesday.

The Chinese President and his wife, Liu Yongging, are scheduled to arrive at the KL International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang at 3.40pm tomorrow.

After a state welcome at Parliament Square he will have an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agung Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara and receive a courtesy call from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Addul Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, at Shangri-la Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

On Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's visit, Anifah said Susilo would arrive at the KLIA at 1pm on Wednesday and would also be accorded a state welcome at Parliament Square besides receiving Najib and having an audience with Tuanku Mizan.

On Thursday he would have a delegation meeting with Najib during which they were expected to discuss issues including that on Indonesian maids in their talks on manpower for the two countries, Anifah said.

He also said that Najib had received an invitation to attend the Nuclear Summit in Washington in April next year.
