7.1- Magnitude Earthquake Hits Fiji Islands

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- A strong 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Fiji Islands at 6.45pm Monday, the Meteorological Department said.

The earthquake's epicentre is located 102km northeast of Suva, Fiji and 7,059km southeast of Kunak, Sabah, it said in a statement.

The earthquake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia.
