| IPRM To Hold IPRM Crystal Awards 2009 Next Year |

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) will hold the IPRM Crystal Awards 2009 in mid-January next year to encourage public relations practitioners to showcase the exemplary standards of the profession in Malaysia.
Its president, Prof Datuk Mohd Hamdan Adnan, said today the awards were aimed at giving recognition to the high standard of professionalism observed by Malaysian PR practitioners, both from the public and private sectors.
"Federal and state government agencies, non-governmental organisations, institutes of higher learning, public listed companies, service sector including hospitality, healthcare and financial institutions and anyone who is related in the field of public relations who need the qualification are welcome to participate in the competition," he said.
The IPRM was targeting 200 participants for the competition, he told Bernama at a briefing on the awards here.
There will be nine award categories -- Employee Relations, Consumer Public Relations, Reputation Management, Public Affairs, Financial Public Relations, Community Relations, Issues or Crisis Management, Volunteerism and Enviromental Project.
The judging criteria include conceptual planning, programme analysis, objectives, quality or level of reseach, innovativeness and measure of success.
There is no limit to the number of entries while the projects submitted must have been implemented during 2007 to 2008.
Entries close on Dec 9, 2009, and the participation fee is RM300 per entry. All cheques should be sent to the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM).
