Mysterious Fire Haunts Family Of Eight In Kulim

KULIM, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- A family in Kampung Charok Meranti, Bandar Baharu here, are being forced to live in a small hut since the past two years due to strange happenings in house, like certain parts of the house suddenly on fire.

The hut has been home to Mohamad Sidek Hamid, 49, his wife Fauziah Ishak, 48, and their six children since 2007.

Mohamad Sidek said they were forced to vacate their brick house due to the mysterious fire which broke out at the premises and recently, in the main bedroom.

"The mysterious fire often broke out when my family and I were out at work," he said when met at his house.

He said a fire and rescue team from Serdang went to the house to investigate and a police report was lodged.

"I found the copy of the police report, which I kept in a drawer of a cupboard, burnt, but not the cupboard," he added.

Mohamad Sidek said the recurrence of fire happened after the family moved into the house which he bought for RM40,000 through the People Friendly Scheme under the Prime Minister's Department in 2007.

He said his family were traumatised and afraid by the incidents because, besides the fire, they also found their money missing.

"I have called more than 100 bomoh, including from Sabah and Sarawak, as well as Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar, and spent more than RM50,000, but the mysterious fire still happen in the house," he added.
