MECCA, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Two Malaysians working with a cargo handling company were killed while another was injured in an accident in Yutma, about 70km from Medina Monday.
The dead were identified as Basir Hassan, 45, and Shariff Ismail, 57, while Zulazli Yassin, 36, who suffered head injuries was admitted to the King Fahad Medina Hospital.
The trio were employees of Aramal Services, who were handling the baggage of Malaysian haj pilgrims, according to the information relayed to the Tabung Haji Information Operation Centre here.
They were travelling in a four-wheel drive vehicle from Mecca to Medina when the accident occurred after Isyak prayer.
The police had arrested the driver of the vehicle, an Indonesian, who is working with Alfa Cargo.
The bodies, which were brought to the Miqat Medina Hospital, were identified by Shariff's son and Basir's neighbour, who were also working with Aramal Services.
The next of kin had been informed of the mishap.
Malaysian haj pilgrims leader Mohd Salleh Abd Mubin said Tabung Haji had arranged the burial of the victims at Baqi' near the Nabawi Mosque.
The burial documentation and permission was sought by Alfa Cargo and Tabung Haji vice-consul Shahrunnajmi Basharudin.
