| Zaini Ujang Appointed As UTM Vice Chancellor Effective Oct 1 |

JOHOR BAHARU, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's (UTM) Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Development and Innovation, Datuk Prof Dr Zaini Ujang, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor for a three-year term, effective Wednesday.
He replaces Tan Sri Prof Dr Mohd Zulkifli Mohd Ghazali whose service ends Tuesday, a UTM statement says.
Zulkifli had held the post since Jan 2001.
Zaini started his service in UTM as an academic staff before being appointed lecturer at the Environment and Water Resources Institute from 2001 to 2006.
He was later appointed Dean of the Chemical Engineering and Natural Resources Engineering Faculty before being made the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Development and Innovation in March 2007.
Zaini is also a member of the National Water Service Commission.
