Designed, A New Talk Show By Bernama Radio24

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Bernama Radio24, the first all-news radio station in the country, has introduced a new weekly talk show known as "Designed" to discuss matters on challenges and developments in the creative industry.
Its first slot was aired last Wednesday.
Produced by Glenreagh and presented by CUTOUT in association with the Malaysia Design Council (MRM), the programme would give the creative industry an opportunity to be the centre of attention talking about challenges, development and how the design will contribute to the economic progress of the nation.
The programme was launched by Bernama General Manager, Datuk Yong Soo Heong, at Wisma Bernama, here today.
Yong said Radio24 was really pushing the envelope by broadcasting creativity and design, breaking away from the norm of news coverage reporting on national agendas.
"This new programmme will show that Bernama also has great interest in the area of design development in our country...we hope Bernama can do something with this Designed talk show for the country," he told a press conference later.
With the objective of raising the standard of the creative industry in Malaysia, future slots of Designed will feature interesting personalities from different areas of the creative industry, members of the design council and design associations, and a variety of topics related to design, creativity and innovation.
Meanwhile, MRM General Manager Futom Shikh Jaafar said the need to strengthen links within the cretaive industry, which was recently found to have contributed significantly to the economics progress of the nation, prompted MRM to support the making of Designed as the first radio show for the design sector.
By having Designed on Bernama Radio24, she said it could provide a positive turn for the design industry which was establishing itself as playing an important role in many related policies and roadmaps implemented by the government.
Designed's Executive Producer Nordin Abdullah said the programme would also provide fresh perspectives to the listeners, which could access it via radio, online and mobile streaming.
He said Bernama Radio24 was chosen for the programme as it was listened by many including the government and policy makers.
"When looking at how to change and how we look forward to this industry...we need to get to the right ears, that is very important and that's why we choose Bernama Radio24," he said.
With the tagline "Creativity's Cutting Edge: Creative Collaboration Empowers People", the programme is hosted by Vivian Toh.
It aimed to attract a broad listenership comprising people from within the creative industry, designers, institutions of higher learing, tertiary students, entrepreneurs, design councils, policy makers and business owners.
Designed will air on every Wednesday night from 9.15pm to 10pm through its frequency FM93.9 in the Klang Valley and FM107.5 in Johor, while the live show is also available on www.radio24.com.my or via mobile streaming on www.radio24.ada.fm.
