SHAH ALAM, April 1 (Bernama) -- The Selangor government will ensure that 53 houses in Kg Sg Terentang, Rawang are not demolished to make way for Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) sub-stations.

State Local Government, Study and Research Committee chairman Ronnie Liu said TNB needed the occupied land to build sub-stations to upgrade power supply to Kuala Lumpur from 33 kilowatt (KW) to 275 KW.

He was confident the problem could be resolved within 100 days of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat-PAS-DAP coalition government in Selangor led by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Kalid Ibrahim.

Liu said the state government would reclaim the land involved in the project and would find an alternative route for TNB's power grid.

Asked whether the alternative route had been identified, he said: "Not decided yet."

He also said that the coalition government did not promise to write-off summonses for vehicles once they came to power but would study the matter as it involved RM100 million, a large source of income for the state.
