| Bernama Radio24 Turns Two On Subdued Note |

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's first and only news radio station, Bernama Radio24 celebrated a subdued second anniversary Thursday.
Its chief operating officer, Sheikh Raffie Abd Rahman said Radio24 was gaining popularity because of its fast-paced news coverage.
He cited Bukit Antarabangsa landslide in December last year as one of its major newsbreaks as its producer Rahayu Nordin, who was trapped at the scene, reported live.
"Our talk show, Bicarawara, which features politicians, sports personalities, and cultural, consumerism and environment activists, is also well-received," he told Bernama.
He singled out "Kerusi Panas", modelled after the BBC's Hardtalk, which began in March and hosted by Azlan Idris, as Radio24's most popular talk show.
Sheikh Raffie said Radio24 would continue to differentiate by restructuring its programmes to cater to the needs of listeners.
"Banking on the success of Kerusi Panas, Radio24 started "Hot Seat" in English last month. We hope it could match Kerusi Panas.
"In the light of current political and economic development, Radio24 will play its role as a platform to analyse current issues objectively," he said.
Radio24, run by the Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama through its subsidiary Digital Media Broadcasting Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Bernama Systems and Solution Advisor (BESSAR), first hit the airwaves at 6am on Sept 3 2007.
Apart from being transmitted terrestrially on 93.9fm, Bernama Radio24 is also available via live audio streaming on www.radio24.com.my.
