KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) will be coordinating the participation of Malaysian companies at the V.I. Trade Expo 2006 in Ho Chi Minh City and the Cambodia International Trade Fair in Phnom Penh.

In a statement here Tuesday, Matrade said the expo in Vietnam (Dec 5-9) would feature a wide range of general consumer and industrial products and services.

"Matrade's participation is in sync with our continuous efforts to explore opportunities and new markets for Malaysian companies, especially within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean)," it said.

Malaysia's trade with Vietnam increased by 26.3 percent to RM8.26 billion in 2005 while exports stood at RM4.39 billion and imports at RM3.87 billion.

Matrade said the Cambodia fair (Nov 30-Dec 3) would showcase a wide range of consumer products and services, industrial equipment, mechanical equipment and agricultural processing equipment.

Malaysia will offer high-quality and competitively-priced products and services at the exhibition.

In 2005, Malaysia's total trade with Cambodia expanded by 27.5 percent to RM0.45 billion from RM0.35 billion in 2004.
