Immigration Department Detains 54 Foreigners In Melaka Tengah
MELAKA, March 1 (Bernama) -- The Melaka Immigration Department detained 54 foreigners, most of them for having no travel documents, during operations at three construction sites in Melaka Tengah Wednesday.
Its director Kamalludin Ismail said 31 of them are Indonesians, 22 Bangladeshis and one Indian national.
Forty-six of them have no valid travel documents, one overstayed while the rest were found to have abused their social visit pass, he said in a statement.
A total of 221 foreigners were checked during the five-hour operations from 10.30am involving 60 immigration officers assisted by 11 Rela personnel.
