Terengganu Allocates RM25 Million For Cleanliness

HULU TERENGGANU, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu government has allocated about RM25 million for programmes to maintain the state's cleanliness and beauty this year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said the allocation included for implementation of programmes by the Kuala Terengganu City Council and other local government authorities in the state.

"The allocation also include projects to clean and beautify rivers in the state," he said in his speech at the presentation of prizes to winners of the village cleanliness and beautification contest in Kampung Payang Kayu here Tuesday.

The text of the speech was read by State Assembly Speaker Datuk Tengku Putera Tengku Awang.

The contest was won by Kampung Payang Kayu which received RM50,000 and a development allocation of RM500,000, while the second and third place were won by Felda Jerangau Barat and Felda Mengkawang, respectively.
