Burglars Beat Victim To Death
IPOH, March 6 (Bernama) -- A burglary victim was beaten to death with a steel rod and an iron by a group of men who broke into his house at Kampung Sungai Badak, Jejawi, Perak, early this morning.
Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said the incident occurred at 3.30 am when the victim, Mohd Suhaili Abdul Salim, 27, was asleep with his wife Masitah Zamberi, 26, and seven-year-old daughter.
"The victim heard a noise and came out of his bedroom to find four foreign masked men armed with machetes and a metal cutter inside his house," he told reporters after the Perak police headquarters monthly gathering here.
The victim tried to fight them off but the men assaulted him with a steel rod and an iron before gagging his mouth and covering his face, causing him to die at the scene, he said.
"The victim's parents, in their 60s, were also tied up. The suspects made off with a Proton Waja car, cell phones and gold jewelry," he added.
Police are tracking the group and patrolling the nearby areas, especially the oil palm plantations there, he said.
