Marine Police Constantly Monitor Malaysia-Thai Border

TUMPAT, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Marine Police Force (PPM)are constantlymonitoring the Malaysia- Thailand border in Kelantanevenduringthe flood seasonto preventcriminals and smugglers from slipping through it.

PPM Third Region deputy commander, SuptMohdPajeriAli saidthey were carrying out patrolsby boat along Sungai Golok to preventany partiesfrom slipping through the national border.

"We also have a diving unit and an intelligenceunit located in several areas wheresmuggling activities often occur," he told reporters when met at the PengkalanKubor PPM operation headquarters here today.

He also urged the public, including residents living inthe border area with information on smuggling activitiesto report them to the authorities.

Meanwhile, MohdPajerisaid a total of150PPM Third Region personnel with 22 patrol boats were deployed inKelantan, Terengganu andPahangsince last month.
